Qualified candidate will be responsible for the physical design
and the development global clock, power and related circuits for ASIC
chips. In addition to design, candidate must be able to develop
methodologies, write flows, evaluate and set acceptance criteria for IP
and ECAD tools related to 45nm/28nm nodes and beyond.
Candidate must have a good knowledge of physical design reference flows
as well the circuit design methodologies incorporating the latest low
skew and power savings techniques. Candidate must be familiar with
using foundry supplied spice models and IP and be able to develop new
circuits and methodologies as both an individual contributor and
technical lead.
Candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills since close
interaction with the internal physical design team members as well as
external vendors, foundries and IP providers is required.
Responsibilities
Evaluate various new foundry process technologies for use in clock,
power and repeater networks
Manage and track issues related to foundry processes, IP design and
ECAD tool usage
Interact with foundries, internal system, timing and CAD teams to spec
environmental, process and simulation parameters
Spec and design clock, power and repeater circuits, flows and networks
from rtl to gds using the latest low skew and power savings techniques
Verify power network and signal EM integrity using various ECAD
programs such as Apache-DA Redhawk program or similar
Simulate and document circuit sensitivity with respect to process and
environmental variations
Provide guidance to others as either an individual contributor or
technical lead
Qualifications:
MSEE with 8 years minimum experience in all aspects of chip design with
emphasis in global clock, power and repeater circuit design
